Our Apalert Apnea breathing monitor is designed to see and hear the breathing rhythm during surgery. A digital display informs us of the time elapsed between the expirations, at the same time as a light turns on and emits a sound. In addition to warning the apnea, the Apalert can signal the slowness of breathing or that it is less deep, so it puts us on notice of impending problems. It can also guide other anesthesia problems, such as hypothermia, gas supply depletion and blockages or gas leaks in the anesthesia equipment.
